Our specialty is to take unusual designs and ideas and develop them into a good set of construction documents. We bridge the gaps between owners, architects, engineers, and contractors. Because of our construction background, we draw things that work and things that can be built.
David Lister is the president of Precise Drafting Inc. Born in Sun Valley and raised in Ketchum, David worked as a full time firefighter and ski patrolman before leaving to study Mechanical Engineering at the University of Idaho. He returned and began his construction career with Storey Construction in Ketchum. David worked in a variety of roles from carpenter to senior project manager. Projects ranged from 1.5 to 10 million. In all of these projects there was an ongoing need for someone to bridge the gaps between the carpenters, the subcontractors, the engineer, the architect, the owner and the rest of the team. David specialized in that role of problem solver and central communicator. Over time, that communication came to involve more and more architectural and structural drawing and detailing. David would analyze the issues on site and develop solutions and get consensus from the team and implement it. This direct experience with the real world issues of time and money and the performance of buildings in a very severe climate makes him uniquely qualified for the design and detailing of complex residential and commercial buildings in snow country.
In 2004, David started Precise Drafting Inc. to offer these services to others.
