It is difficult to give an estimate of the costs for drafting work without knowing the particulars of your project. Our work ranges from very small scope that might involve a single page drawing and 4 hours time or less; to a large project that may involve many months of work and hundreds of drawings.
Please call or email me and I would be happy to discuss the specifics of your project and provide you with a free estimate.
We bill on an hourly basis. As a rough estimate, a relatively simple sheet will average about 8 hours, and a more complex sheet with many custom details may take as much as 40 hours. It all depends on the complexity. For simple single family residential work, an average figure is 16 hours per sheet.
The number of sheets depends on the scope of the project. A furniture piece might be one sheet, a small one room addition might be 3-6 sheets, a simple home under 2500 square feet might be 12-18 sheets, a very large complex home could range from 30 to 100 sheets. The scope also depends on whether or not we are doing structural drafting. If the structural engineer is doing his own drafting, these sheet counts would reduce by about 25 to 30 percent.
